THUS ,MERMAIDS ARE REAL?

MERMAIDS

Mermaids are mythical creatures that are typically depicted as half-human, half-fish. They are often portrayed as beautiful and enchanting, with long hair and a tail instead of legs. The concept of mermaids has existed for centuries and can be found in folklore and mythology from cultures around the world.

In some legends, mermaids are seen as benevolent beings who help sailors in distress, while in others they are considered dangerous and alluring, leading sailors to their demise. In many stories, mermaids are said to have the power to control the sea and its creatures.

Despite their mythical status, the idea of mermaids continues to captivate people's imaginations and has inspired numerous works of art, literature, and film.

 COLUMBUS ABOUT MERMAIDS:

Christopher Columbus wrote in his journal about seeing mermaids during his voyages in the Caribbean. In his journal entry from January 9, 1493, he describes seeing three mermaids, saying:

"Monday, January 9th: The Admiral, at the time of sunset and in the evening, saw a mermaid and shouted and called to the three ships that they should bear witness to the fact that he had seen a mermaid. They came quickly, and each one saw her appear on top of the sea. She was not as pretty as painted, although her face had some feminine traits in it. Her body resembled that of a serpent, very much, and her tail was of aquamarine color, which caused the sea to look bluer. It was the size of a grown woman, and its voice sounded like a whistling of many serpents."

It is believed that what Columbus actually saw were manatees, which are large aquatic mammals that can be found in the waters around the Caribbean. Manatees were often mistaken for mermaids by sailors during this time period due to their human-like appearance and the fact that they are capable of standing upright in the water.

 Thus, do male mermaids exist?

Back in 1737, on November 10, in Spain, a fisherman caught a mermaid with a beard and a mustache, and thus news was published in a famous Spanish news article.
